Today’s older adults expect a broad range of programs, services and educational opportunities. Primeplus Senior Center (formerly Norfolk Senior Center) classes and activities are designed to be responsive to the needs of the community and will change as the community changes, maintaining a focus on quality, cooperation and coordination.

Special Events Schedule

SENIOR CENTER
STUDENT ART EXHIBIT- SEPTEMBER

During National Senior Center Month, we will highlight the talents of our members and teachers in this exhibit. Anyone who is or has participated in classes at the center is welcome to submit items for display. Items can also be available for sale, with a small percentage of the sales donated to the senior center for continuing to provide programs and services to the community.

DAY OF CARING - SEPTEMBER

Primeplus is a proud participant of the largest single day volunteer event in South Hampton Roads. The United Way Day of Caring volunteers help organizations throughout the day with special projects building our way to a better community.

HOLIDAY FAIRE - NOVEMBER
This annual fall event offers a family friendly environment for shoppers to browse and purchase a wide variety of handmade crafts for holiday gift giving which include: candles, ceramics, jewelry, knitted scarves, specialty foods and more. Vendors interested in participating can obtain an application form and guidelines from our office.

HOLIDAY PARTY- DECEMBER
Celebrate the holiday season with fellow members and staff. Held the 2nd Friday in December. Gift Giveaways are exchanged, and the Holiday Raffle offers an opportunity to win handmade arts & crafts.

MEMBERSHIP EVENTS - TBA
Several special Membership events are held throughout the year. Examples include: Ice Cream Party, Open House, and Health & Wellness Fairs.





SENIOR ARTFEST- MAY
This spectacular annual event gives members and the general public the opportunity to appreciate the vision, artistry and craftsmanship of South Hampton Roads’ artists and craftsmen age 50 and older. Amateurs and professionals working in various mediums are welcome to participate in the exhibit. The categories include: Ceramics, Drawing, Mixed Media, Miscellaneous, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Textiles, and Woodworking. Artwork is available for purchase.
